Start with a site assessment

Before the event, walk the venue and note every entrance, exit, stage area, kitchen passage and parking zone. The number of security personnel depends on guest count, venue layout and the nature of the function.

Identify where crowds will naturally gather — gates, food counters, stages — and plan staffing for those points first.

Manage entry and guests

A single controlled entry with a guest list or invitation check prevents gate-crashing and keeps the host's arrangements intact.

For large functions, separate lanes for family, guests, vendors and VIP movement avoid confusion at the gate.

Plan parking and vehicle movement

Most event friction happens in the parking area. Assign personnel to direct vehicles, reserve spaces for elders and VIPs, and keep emergency lanes clear at all times.

Stay calm under pressure

Event security must be firm but courteous. De-escalation, clear communication and a visible, well-groomed presence resolve most situations long before they grow.

A briefing before the event and a debrief after it keep standards consistent across every function.
