Blocked drains and basement seepage cause most monsoon damage. Housekeeping teams should clear terrace outlets, check sump pumps and inspect basement entries before the season begins.
Waterlogging near gates, guard cabins and electrical panels is a serious hazard. Keep people away from affected electrical equipment and notify the building manager and a qualified electrician. Guards should not touch wet panels or attempt electrical repairs; isolation of unsafe equipment should be handled by authorised, competent personnel.
Rain reduces visibility and footfall, which can invite trespassing. Night rounds should pay extra attention to boundary walls, rear entries and parking basements, with guards equipped with rain gear and torches.
Share emergency contacts with residents and staff, and agree in advance who decides on closures, evacuations or pumping work during heavy rain. A short seasonal briefing avoids confusion when the weather turns.
